Have taken the bait from all of you that have done a home style awning. Am getting all the parts together, awning track, Keder awning rope, shade cloth, and poles. A quick question tho...what size self tapper was used to install the awning rail? Thanks....will post pics if I dont screw it up!! MH

Generally the screws are #8 x 3/4 teks (self drilling). Home depot has 'em by the 100 pack. You would need to be sure you are screwing into the frame tube.

Desert Rancher, Thanks alot for the info. Am looking forward to having some shade out in the desert soon! Will be attaching rail to, hopefully, the tube that the roof latches are mounted on. One of the pioneers of this attached in this area so if it worked for them ought to work for me. MH
