I am so stoked to be the proud owner of a FWC. I don't care if it is 23 years old it's cool! My fiance and I had just decided that we wanted something more substantial than a tent to camp and travel with and started a search in earnest for a good fit. I had seen in one of my four wheel mags a "pop-up" truck camper and that's when I found FWC's and ATC's.
As soon as I saw them I know that we had found our match and wouldn't you know that I found a Fleet model close by in Seattle (I live near Portland). Phone calls and emails went out as did the tape measure to ensure all would fit well and I was off to the Emerald city.
Four hours after arriving I had a FWC in the back of my little truck. I got a screaming deal (thank you very much David you are good man), and he even called in some of his friends to help make the transfer from his rig to mine.
We paid $600 and I couldn't be happier. I have already jumped into the repairs and can't wait to get out and pop our top in the great outdoors.
I took a bunch of pics during the repair of the bed board (cab over section) that was complete mush. Chicali from FWC answered all of my questions in a couple of phone calls and gave me some good tips on getting the new board in place (requires a pry bar or two ). I was thinking of maybe doing a short write up on the job if there was any interest.
Sorry to be so long winded, I'm just super excited about our new adventure.
Till next time....
Meet our new-to-us Fleet

I for one would love to see piccies and a write up on that repair..I did that same repair to my old '84 fleet(among others!).I ended up putting a thin sheet of fiberglass material below the wood I installed to protect from weather. gave it a very clean look..I was lucky enough to get large chunks of the fiberboard out and make a template..
Good luck with your project!!

Congratulations on your new purchase and welcome to the forum.
Personally, I think a Toyota and FWC are the ultimate combo for reliability and fun. You've got some beautiful country in Oregon, I hope you'll be out enjoying it soon and sharing the tales with us.

Sev3en,
Welcome to the board and congrats on the great camper buy. Looks like it will be an interesting project. Another of our members (user name Warpath Engineering) is in the process of a major repair/remodel and could also be a good source of information. Keep us posted.

Definitely like to see and hear about all the repairs. Never know what I might have to do down the road.
Sounds like you got a heck of a deal.

You got a great deal. Even if it needs to a complete overhaul, you paid much less than it's worth. Congratulations. Chicali has answered at least a few questions for me. As others have stated, pictures and a write up of the repairs would be very welcome.
