I almost got in an accident yesterday and it reminded me that I don't have insurance on my camper. Along with totaling my truck a bad accident could also damage the $19k camper. I got my camper in February and had never thought about insurance.

I called my insurance company and it is now covered. To my surprise, my policy went down $160 per year. I guess the statistics must show that drivers with a truck/camper drive more carefully, or maybe not as fast. But it was great news - the camper is fully covered, and it saved me money. Can't complain about that!

Good deal, DonC. When I added the camper to my policy, the premium payments went down, too, but not by quite so much.

I'm just lucky I never got into an accident before I remembered to insure it. There is no reason not to fully insure your camper.

My policy with Progressive, through AAA, covers the Hawk with the truck when installed and it is under the home policy when not installed. The replacement value of the truck includes the camper.
