What is best way to put chlorox/water mixture into water tank as manual suggests for sanitizing? It is very difficult to put in via the fresh water connection.

I just did this procedure and roughly followed this advice.

I bought a funnel at Autozone for $2 and trimmed the end a bit. Made the bleach water mix in a gallon milk jug. Stood on a step so I could hold the funnel and jug at a more comfortable angle and poured slowly from the jug.

Hope that helps or gives you an idea on how to proceed.

What mixture ratio do you use?
Thanks Frank

Since my tank holds 20 gal I mixed 1/2 cup of bleach with water and poured it in when the tank was about half-full, following the guidance of the article I linked to. YMMV.

I follow this system every year....fill the entire system with the chlorine mix...leave overnight...drain, refill, drain...and fill with clean filtered water

after doing this at the beginning of the season...I just refill after every trip...knowing it's not going to be long before the next trip

BTW....for those of you just getting started with alaskans...or any camper for that matter...get a good inline filling filter...and install a shutoff valve on it....spicots in different areas of the country have different qualities of water  ....all you need is to clean out your water tank once, dry clean...from garbage getting in the system...and you'll understand.....don't ask me how I learned this..my wife never knew....I carry the filter everywhere...and change it every other year
