Hey folks,

I have a 2000 FWC Hawk which has the bench seat. It's only myself and the wife, so we want to convert the bench into a dinette. Anyone done it, or likely there's a thread on here I can't find...

Would like to make the dinette convertible to a single bed if possible.

Thanks and hope you're all well.

I changed my 2001 Hawk from a side bench to a side dinette. I left a video up from when I sold it. Hope this give you some ideas.

KOOTFWC,

I didn't have a side sofa, but have a build thread that shows my installation of a side dinette I made from scratch. I'm linking the building of the boxes, but further along in the build thread you'll find the addition of cushions and how it turned out. Take a look at both page 25 and 27 for the process, in addition to page 26 linked. Hope this helps!

I just moved the side sofa to the back and built a table from parts I got at a marine supply center.  The column is removable, as is the tabletop so I have lots of options.  The bonus of this setup is all of the storage under the roll over couch with the added step/floor platform.

KootFWC your 2000 will not have roll over brackets. On my 2001 I used ski pools to hold the seat back. Roll overs are better. Search this site and you will find a supplier. I used my table to make the single bed on my 2001 on my 2013 build (see build in my sig) the rear seat back rolls over to make the side bed.
