TCM has been featuring concert/music documentary films this Labor Day weekend -- mostly non-acoustic rock bands and concerts.
But this p.m. they showed -- and I watched -- "Festival" from 1967 -- covering the Newport Folk Festival over 3 years in the early/mid '60s. Mostly acoustic...except for an infamous (to folk purists) performance by Bob Dylan.
For some reason, the film didn't "title" the performances -- didn't give on-screen i.ds of the performing artists (except in the credits). So...not being a folk aficionado, I only recognized the most famous -- such as Joan Baez, Peter Paul & Mary, Pete Seeger.. etc.
