20013 Ford regular cab F-150 5.0 V-8 4x4 3.73 rear 5500 pounds empty, 7500+/- pounds with the camper: 15-16 mpg for first 50,000 miles with the camper on full time, all by the tank fills. 2015's 18,000 miles averaged 15.6 mpg. 61-69 mph with 66 mph being the sweet spot of speed and fuel economy. Gravel roads with four wheel drive are 14 mpg. 70+ mph puts us in the 14's mpg.

02 Tundra/Bobcat 4X4. Usually 15/16 @65/70,mostly 65.
Pretty much the way it has been since I've had the Tundra.
06 Ford Ranger V6/Bobcat 2X4 maybe 16/17,but little or no power against the wind up hill.
Like the area on 395 just north of Reno.
Tundra all around a better fit for us.

2005 F250 Power Stroke-On my first big trip in March, (2,000 miles through Death Valley, Nevada and Utah) I averaged about 13.5mpg. On some of the 70-80MPH highways I had really strong headwinds and mileage went as low as 11mpg on some tanks . Before I got my Hawk, I had a regular camper shell and I would average about 15mpg. I wish there was a way to reduce air drag....

Don't know what my mileage is. I've never calculated it. I bought a truck to use as a truck and then spent another 20K+ on a camper, so I'm not going to start nickel and diming driving/using the thing. The way I look at it, the more I spend on fuel, the more use I am getting out of my camper. I keep it on full time as a daily driver in the city. I go to public parks and have fires/picnics, take naps on days off etc. so I love it even in the city. I try to go camping at least once a month year round to justify keeping it on.
My range went from 600km per tank to 500km per tank hwy with the camper on hwy.
If I slow down to 90km/h vs. 110km/h I can get up to 550km per tank.
In the city I used to get 550km/tank, now I get about 450km/tank.
Slow down (or buy a Smart Car) if you want to conserve fuel

2014 Ram 1500 ecodiesel 4X4, cold air intake, muffler delete (still has DEF), 3/1 level/lift. Around town 24 mpg. Flat interstate 70mph 32 mpg. Realistic interstate 28.5.
Getting the Hawk next month and curious to see what it does to it(the wait is AWFUL). Anyone else have one?
Overall I agree with Bill D though. If I wanted to save money and fuel I'd get a Jetta TDI and a tent. Camping is an excellent way to spend money, time, and fossil fuels.

I have a '15 Taco with an Eagle. Mileage varies from 17 mpg with a tail wind to 12 mpg with a head wind. 14-15 mpg if I stay at 55 or under, but it's hard to find roads any more with speed limits under 65, even 2 lane blacktop.

I've had the camper on full-time for 2 years, on my F350 6.0l diesel. Camping trips, trips to the store, trips with boats on top, trips without. Usually 70 mph on the road without boats, 65 with boats. 14.07 mpg with the camper.
prior to that I averaged 16.25 mpg, so the camper knocked about 2 mpg off the average.
