I know there was a recent thread about camper steps, but would like for people who camp with their dogs to weigh in on the best affordable steps for dogs to enter and exit the FWC by themselves. I have a 30lb and 50lb dog and want to save their joints and my back. Thanks!

Camping World - Dog ramp. Our lab goes right up into our F-250 and same into our FWC. Has green turf so no slipping. Best purchase we have made. jd

Thank you, Longhorn, and hello from Austin, TX.

I'm guessing you have the 72" long ramp, not the shorter one. Is that right?

Being cheap...plywood and stapled on rug...the ole girl loved it... was a pain to store but hey ...she's been a true blue to me.

We went with Tork Lift Glowstep with the Safe Step fillers, not cheap but worth every cent.  Do to past injuries and now balance issues I needed  secure steps and our dog can no longer jump up into the camper so it is a win/win.  Because Belle cannot see thru the steps with the Safestep panels in place she goes up/down at will.

Cheers!

Me too! In fact when "Bob" my Border Collie (going on 10) just started having a problem jumping up in to my Grandby a couple of weeks ago' when I had to use all my levelers and it was a little higher than usual, I just pulled it out of the shed when  I got home and put it up and showed him what it as for, and after a sniff or two and a little tug-up he went with what I would call a bemused look on his face. I just  used it again for four days up at Butte Creek and for him it was a one way thing-He insisted on jumping out in the morning on his own, and jumping into the front seat of my F-150 when acting as co-driver!   I first got it when my Aust. Shep lost a leg to cancer and was having   problem getting in and out!  I should note that it also works well as a bridge when I ran a wheel barrow full of new roof tiles over a step to get it to the roof!

Charlie and Hailey do fine when we have the tow hitch cargo rack installed. It steps up half the distance. If we level the truck to camp and the rack is too tall we place the folding ladder or the excess leveling blocks as a step to the cargo rack.

Would anyone with the tork lift steps have a photo of it on a FWC?
