So any feedback on the king size bed? We are placing an order this weekend and the Wife is curious on the King size bed? Does it completely cover the front dinette? I'm trying to figure if their is still enough space in the front dinette turned bed for the dogs, as compared to having the Queen bed.

Hi trikebubble, the king slide does completely cover the front dinette, but the good news is it can be used in king, queen or large twin mode. (Dinette completely covered, dinette 1/2 covered, dinette not covered) after 8 camping trips with 4 of us we have only used it in queen mode and here is why, fully covering the dinette makes for a hell of a fist step when getting off the bed.

My reasoning for getting the king option was as the kids get bigger they won't both fit in the dinette bed and we can then sleep 3 north south in the king.

Love my fwc, , had to take it off this week for storage... not a free weekend till January. It was a sad day.

Happy ordering day!

Bob

Trikebuble,
one last observation, when in king mode with dinette fully covered, the dinette bed is useable to anyone not closterphobic. And reallly would resemble a closed in "fort/den/cave/dog house"

Hey,

Thanks again for the input. After spending 3 hours going over, and seeing/trying every available option and set-up with Gary from Four Wheel in Vancouver, we decided against the King size bed. The Queen was certainly large enough for the two of us,the dogs can sleep comfortably on the front dinette turned bed, and we can still use the edge of that lower bed as a step up/down to the Queen bed.

Cheers.

Just had TransferFlow replace my stock 26 gallon diesel tank with a 50 gallon. My rig now has longer legs! On another note, on my last trip as I was preparing to leave I hade my 130l fridge cooling 4 days before as always. But the damn thing blew the 12v fuse. When it was time to load the fridge it was 90 degrees. Replaced the fuse and all was good, loaded fridge with pre chilled food/drinks ...got to our destination and put a remote thermometer in it. It took almost 24 hours to drop to 50 degrees.... needless to say we did not eat a lot that was in there. I was very disappointed my 2 way fridge let me down.

One cross country trip, numerous nights in northern California and Idaho for a total of 43 nights in the camper and sadly I sold it last Wednesday.   My kids grew up and are too big to both fit in the dinette bed of the hawk as well as moving to Idaho has changed our camping situation.  I would like to thank everyone for all the great ideas and information given on this forum.   I hope the family that bought the hawk have as much fun as we did.   Off to buy a toy hauler.

Thank you All.
