We expect to visit some family near St Louis late October or so.

Any ideas of nice areas to visit within the general area......maybe leaf colors or etc.

Need to fly out but will likely rent some sort of small camper.

Our interests include history and natural history.

Many thanks

I enjoyed visiting the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial Museum (under the Arch). https://www.nps.gov/jeff/index.htm

Also Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site, a World Heritage Site in East St Louis, is worth a visit.  https://cahokiamounds.org/

The Missouri Botanical Gardens are world class if you are interested in that sort of thing.  http://www.missourib...icalgarden.org/

The confluence of the Missouri and Mississippi is interesting from a historical point of view as the start of the Lewis and Clark expedition. https://mississippir...a2d21bc96df5a64

The Mark Twain and Shawnee National Forests are not too far away.

To name just a FEW !

Many thanks !

We have been to some of these but the reminder is helpful.

Also hoping to get out of the city metro area and find some country if not some natural areas......there for about a week.
