Maybe I missed it but how did you determine where to drill (left to right)? Are you going through a stud, or are you just using the inside wall and siding to hold this in place?

Thanks

Initially I thought about trying to find the exact center of a metal stud, but decided to not over think it and just put it where I wanted/needed it. Chances you will find & hit the center of a stud are much less than finding a hollow space & using backing washers. Just don't over tighten your bolts or risk distorting your wall too much.

Upon further inspection, it appears the front bolts and lock nuts, drilled through the camper, would interfere with the sliding bed tray.  Did you find this to be an issue?

Had zero issues with that in my install. I paid careful attention to height and bed interference during install. I wanted to be sure not to snag the cushion on bolt heads every time I moved the bed cushions. In the steps above you'll see my measurements and the subsequent inner hole locations on my camper (w/ photos). It's a 2018 Hawk, but I've also done this on a previous 2012 Hawk as well. Measure twice, drill once. I hope this helps.

Can someone tell me what the mounting channel measurement is on an ARB 2500? (center to center)

Thanks!

Great tutorial...

First saw "12 Steps" and thought, oh no!  An on-line FWC AA meeting!
