Adding my 2 cents:

for many folks this maybe is their first camper after many years of backpacking. Many of the new owners are in their mid 60's, maybe recently retired so have extra money to make a dream reality. Now older They didn't 't realize that physically even exploring the back country  in a pop up with no bathroom or closet or storage doesn't give them the creature comforts they were looking for in a camper/RV.

Buying a Four Wheel is/was still a good idea because of the fantastic resale value as the demand for a good used model is better than waiting 3-4 months even in winter  for a new one. One can sell it, get back a very good portion of their investment, than choose to buy something bigger or put the money back in the bank.

As you may have read in my profile we have been camping over 56 years. We have camped/traveled in tents, tent-trailers, class A motor homes, hard sided campers towing utility trailers  race cars, boats, jet-ski's, dune buggies, lately a Samurai, and now an electric bike. We had many different reasons for every vehicle we owned.

If you've never had an RV or camper, you need to sit down with your partner and decide what you want to use it for and the level of creature comforts you need to be happy. When we travel on pavement we camp for a couple of days than stay in a motel a couple of days.

When our adult children finally moved out we sold everything in the late 90's including my 16 foot sailboat and stopped camping for couple of years. The wife wanted to do something else and told me to find a camping option just for me and she would adapt and go with me in the summertime. That is the reason we bought the 4WC Eagle shell...To haul my airplanes around, transport my bike, and get me out of the wind and the cold and off the ground for sleeping. A place to read, cook a simple meal and explore the desert in the wintertime.

We've owned it 8 years. Now at age 76 there is going to be less camping because it is getting more difficult to use it as my lower back issues are getting worse. If I'm lucky I might camp to age 80. Its been a good 8 years. I'm glad I bought it. Hope to use it 4 more years...than for medical reasons I will sell it and go to motels for travel...Motels with soft beds, full bathrooms and free breakfasts are getting more appealing every year.

If you want more info PM me ...See you out there....Thanks for reading.this post.

Paul T

that is an interesting little trailer the Invetec " flyer". My mate and I have talked about a small trailer under 20 feet once we give up going to the hot springs which is all the off road I do anymore since most of the guys I did off road exploring with that with have "hung up there desert boots' and I don't want to go solo even with the Garmin InReach,

We going to keep using the Eagle as long as possible then give it all up and embrace motels with pools and spa's .
