OK, I know how it is hooked up and that it measures the temperature outside the battery and is a 'Smart' device via my BMV 712 and Victron Connect....

BUT how exactly does it measure temperature?  Victron sez it contains a "chip", but 'how does it work"?

Since my Victron DC/DC charger [30amp] is next to BB battery in battery box; I am using sensor to see how much the charger raises the box thence battery...

Thanks...Phil

Ps...An insight and warning concerning potential damage to sensor from Victron

Thanks Rando...temperature derived from voltage after a calibration...all the tech/circuitry was over my head but the concept was not...

Appreciate knowing how and why...just me.
