We crossed into Baja on New Years day and went south until we ran out of roads, then turned around and went north again.  This was our first trip to Baja and Mexico.  We didn't go in with much of an agenda, other than to check it out and, if we decided to come back, be more informed about sights to see the next time.  What a great trip, we only wish we had at least double the two weeks we had.   Great beach camping, superb food and friendly people were the themes.

Part one of our trip is now posted, along with a video (embedded in the post), which mostly just covers our trip prep and planning and the border crossing.  We'll get into the rest of the actual trip in the following posts when I get to them in the coming weeks.  It's taken me a bit to get through an initial review of all the photos and video, but hopefully there won't be too much of a delay in getting the rest of the parts posted.

Love it. I keep reading reports from people who have been there dozens of times. I really like seeing a first timers report. Helps encourage me to go.

Very informative TR!   When I lived in San Diego we used the Tecate border crossing quite often.

At long last I have posted part 2.  The weather has been so nice here in Bend that we've been out the past 2 weekends, which has slowed down these reports a bit.  Part 2 gets into the actual trip report (vs. part 1 which focused on trip prep and border crossing).  We cover a lot of miles as we head south down the peninsula in this report.  Starting out just south of Ensenada we end the post on the Bahia Conception.  There are some really cool cacti to be seen, along with the boojum trees, and a couple nice beach camps.

Thanks for following along!
