You had me at "Chaos Canyon".  Great looking rocks over there!  I like Tony's explanation and I am also a big fan of Myron Cook's videos.

I understand it is hard without more photos or a sample, but any idea what that white layer is?

Maybe we'll go back and doing a little more tracking. :)

I'm curious now to match the white layer and siltstone/gravel layers we found up Chaos Canyon to those associated with the fossil tracks and look for possible tracks up that way also.

Our first hike into this area was via a different route (this was our three trip up here) and now I'm curious what we may find repeating that route.

Ski,

Sorry to leave you hanging.  I just had time for a quick run through the TR text and photos hoping for some of your most excellent rock pics, and you did not disappoint!  I'll take a closer and more relaxed look in the next couple of days and will get back to you with hard information or a SWAG then.  Best part about that plan is you may not know which I'll be offering!

Wonderful trip report to some of our favorite places!

Mouse site was also a basecamp for us to walk to the circus petros.

But, we drove to Little Finland, while you two hiked it!

It's fun to see the Lady adopting the smarty pants phone and take pics.

Getting those Benton cancellations takes some skill and luck!

Going tracking sounds fun!

FYI, I just edited Part Three of the trip story to include this -

Addition: Our good friend, Dan, pointed this out in one of the petroglyph photos. Thanks Sharp Eyed Dan!
