Hi all! I need to make my bed a bit larger, and I intend to add a slide out similar to how they come from the factory. I am trying to find the correct material and need some help. What is the name of material that creates the bottom of the bed? Is is MDF? Thank you!

Without popping up and looking at what is used, I would say some FG ply would be a great option. If it is indeed 1/2", then a 9 ply Baltic birch would be a readily available good choice. It is stable, strong and has a nice smooth finish. MDF would not be recommended for many reasons.

I used 1/2 plywood for a full pull out and it works fine
