Hello All,

First time posting here so...if I screw up, please let me know.

I did search but didnt find anything that helps me.

I have a Hawk and am about to do some modifications to it along with some repairs.

I like the idea of the underbed storage. And since I am 6'4", i wonder if the models with that option are taller?

1) I would love to see some detailed photos of the upper frame piece. The large 4" (?) section that wraps around at the front of the bed.

2) Pics of the underbed storage and how it "functions". And how it is made.

Any thoughts are appreciated as well!

Welcome to the cult.

Have you tried Stan at FWC,or Marty at ATC .

Marty does a lot of resto work on the FWC/ATC pop ups.

Depending on your Hawks age Marty may have helped build it when he worked at FWC.

I have a 2024 Hawk Ft dinette with Extended Cabover w/ Underbed Storage and King bed.

Much taller.

On my under bed storage area it's a 6 '' section and there are 4 6'' beams running front to back, also the cabover bed section is longer. I was also told by FWC that there are additional reinforcements for the frame.

No pics at this time as it's raining and I'm not going to raise it up now. I'll get photos next time I have it up.
There is a cover with a piano hinge and 2 gas struts that help lift the cover. there are 2 narrow compartments on each side about 6''w X 4''h X 4' long, 2  compartments about 12''w X 4''h X 4 ' long and a center compartment 18''w X 4''h 4' long. The lid pivots up about 30 - 40 degrees for access.

Thank you both! I do plan to contact Four Wheel Campers once I get it taken apart and see just what all I need to repair. I bought it damaged so don’t know “what” happened.
This is a 2023 model built in July 2023.
So far I’m very happy with it. Looking forward to having it repaired so I can use it!

@slowernolder If you are able, I’d love to see pics and have measurements of your cab over. I’m really curious how “deep” the overhang is. And how long the overhang is.

I called the FWC factory today and I think they were hearing me ask for the ancient Chinese secrets they use to build. Only thing they would tell me was they 6063 aluminum at .040” wall thickness. Would not share any dimensions with me.

Thank you!

Trex, it might be worth a road trip to the FWC factory in Sacramento.  We were there a month ago and could view many stages of the build process while there.  Stan is an excellent tour guide too!
