New FWC Grandby

I've been exploring the western US for for most of my life, from river running and mountaineering to just plain poking my nose in places very few folks ever visit. After years of tent camping, then camping from the back of my little 1986 Hardbody Nissan, I bought a 2003 4x4 Nissan Frontier and had a Phoenix Wigwam made for it. The first year, I promised myself that I would get out every weekend and I did exactly that. Plus three multi-week trips. I had a blast and I've been pop-up camping ever since.
The Phoenix was a great camper and the Nissan Frontier was as dependable as a rock. It just wasn't big enough for my month long trips after I retired. So, I went for it and bought a new but hail-damaged 2011 Ford F-350 Reg cab XL gasser with an 8 foot bed. Oh, and I just happened to call FWC and order a Grandby.
And now the wait is over. I'm getting up early tomorrow morning and driving to Flagstaff where I will meet the new Grandby for the first time. I know it's going to be love at first sight. I just can't imagine how I'm going to sleep tonight!!! Pictures and more tomorrow night.....

The install went down in the Wal-Mart parking lot at 9 AM this morning. It was sunny but the wind was blowing and it was about 40 degrees. Brrrr!
The Four Wheel Camper guy was a prince and it all got done really well. The biggest hassle was all the folks that saw us in the parking lot and came over to see the new Four Wheel Camper. Seriously, I think we might have made one or two sales for the company!!
I'll spend tomorrow loading all my gear and will try a shake-down cruise on Thursday. Christmas came early my place this year!!!
