The rarer and cleaner they are, the more valuable. I've been restoring old Scouts for a few years now and they just keep going up every year. It's nice to see people appreciate quality over newness.

buckwheat, i'l take two. checks in the mail. it does look nice but not for that much dough on a '71.also ,i saw your gallery pic. rig looks good. how was fishin?

verynice,-that deal looks pretty good except maybe the millage with that big motor.i have a scout also. looking to sell it. know anyone up in my neck of the woods that might be interested? 1965 scout 80--196motor,spingover done from 1971 running gear. it's about 1/2 restored ,but complete and runs(off and on)

Yes it is a great looking camper and looks to be in great shape I was really shocked that someone would pay that much with out looking at it. I would sell mine in a heart beat for half that.

Fishing was great we had a blast. We went out to the Belfair area.

It depends. The better prices seem to come for "clean" stock ones. The most bang for the buck parts of the restorations are removing any rust (mostly rocker panels and floors) and un-doing any "modifications" previous owners have made. Clean body and fresh paint doubles the price. The 800 model is the most sought after. You could contact IH Only in Grass Valley CA as they do restorations and resales and might be interested-
