Thanks all, once again, for your kind comments.

An update. We are home safe. When we got into cell service yesterday near Idaho Falls, the Lady's cell phone came alive with messages. Not a good sign.................................medical emergency with her elderly parents. Our plans changed and we hit the dreaded, but fast and efficient, interstates. Taku is correct. It was pouring rain in Wyoming, Idaho, and into Nevada. We spotted possible funnel cloud formation south of Twin Falls. It was raining so hard we got a motel room for some needed sleep. We left the rain this morning in Winnemucca and reached Roseville, CA just as her Mom was getting out of surgery. As I know many here are or have gone through the challenges of aging parents, life can get complicated in an instant.

So I apologize for the tease but I enjoy putting these trip stories together so I hope I don't leave you all hanging for too long.

Sorry to hear about The Lady's mom having health issues.   That's not easy for anyone involved, neither the person nor the family.

We send our best thoughts and prayers to you and yours!

Thank you all for your kind comments. Surgery went well and she was placed in a care facility close by, easy for all of us to visit. Things are falling into place but it takes a great deal of work, energy, and that occasional deep breath. Thanks again!

Mr 3pin, nice start to the trip! Did you find the graves at Bluesky? They are just outside the stand of Ponderosa Pines.

All that is left of Fort Warner...   From the Bannock Wars.

By the way, I defined the Order of the Antelope as being a drinking group with the bad habit of conservation and patriotism.

Um! the Wind Range. Might give it a look see next time we head to Yellowstone. As we look for other places to visit on the way home instead of just a shot drive home.

Nice to see so many wildflowers still out what with the hotter summer and sparse rainfall.

Thanks ,waiting for the next part/parts.

Good to know the family situations are settled down.

Love the Wind River Range. As previously discussed, entered from the Dubois side way back in 1976, bound for Gannet Peak.  Never made it, but it was an epic 8-man backpacking trip with a 48 hour straight-through drive in a 15 passenger van from and back to Boone, NC on each end.  Travel was much slower in the 55mph days.

Looking forward to the remaining installment(s).

Foy
