Have a light pop up on my 4x4 Ranger. Need a quick fix to travel on a light back country trail this weekend. Do not have proper tie downs like a happijac. Wondering if heavy duty rachet straps will do the trick. It's a 500 lb low profile slide in camper, Trail is just 10 miles and not that heavy duty. But the stock tie downs are just three turnbuckles bolted to the box and I'm pretty sure they'll rip up going off road. Roamin Chariot is the brand.
Securing a light pop up using rachet straps?

Yep. It will work in a pinch as long as you're not getting to crazy off road. I did it with my Alaskan for a while. Have fun.

I used some to get home, but I'd be very leery of traversing rough roads that way.

I'd make sure to secure not only around it but make sure it cannot slide back. Should be okay temporarily.
