Looking forward to some HDR Photos!

I'm trying to turn down the HDR-ness of my HDR photos.
Most of those I shot and included here are HDR, but I'm adjusting the software settings so that a broad dynamic range is preserved without producing too much of an unnatural effect -- even if those effects do make a striking photo. I could call an obvious HDR look just an artistic touch, but I don't want to overdo that.

Many of those piles of slash are being burned in power plants now. If not they'll burn them in the winter. They can smolder for months. Nice place only an hour away.

Yeah, I was wondering if they get hauled off somewhere -- makes sense. I think I'll call the local Forest Service and ask what's up, now that my curiousity is raised.
One thing's for sure -- somebody was pretty busy for a while with all that cutting and stacking! I was amazed to see it all over the mountain. If we can't let lightning-caused fires burn naturally then deliberate manual thinning of these thickets seem like a good thing.

Cool trip. I like that you adapted and it looks like had a better time because of it. :D

Nice pics, sometimes the best adventures are close to home. Beautiful country.

Thanks, guys. :)
I like Pine Mt!
Bend is a tourist destination, but hardly any tourists head east from Bend -- maybe that's why I like it in that direction. Posted Image
