Cleo, if you want some creature comforts check out the "Flip Pac"  www.flippac.com.

 

I owned mine for 8 years before I purchased the FWC Eagle shell. I paid $3,000 for it in 2004 and sold it last year for $1,500. I used it mostly in the desert and spent many a night in it in 30-35 mile an hour wind gusts. Picture a two-piece shell. The top folds over the cab so you would have a separate mattress, full use of your truck bed...I had a portapotty and storage box's and a portable Mr. Buddy propane heater foir cold nights. Add a folding chair and couple battery powered lanterns and I was all set (I cooked and ate outside).. Yes you will need a sleeping bag suitable for cold weather if you camp in winter like I did. 

 

I bought the FWC because at age 69 I need more creature comforts.
