CR: Is your spare tire under the rear of your truck bed? Be sure you can access the crank system with the tailgate down.

Food for thought coming from a Tacoma owner. I have a 2009 Access Cab and a Finch shell, slightly built out. I love it. I could probably sleep diagonally on the factory couch if necessary. Being a shorter camper I am able to close my tailgate which is also a step/platform/table when in camp. There is much argument against keeping a tailgate but I love having mine there.

I have my Grandby in a 6.5' Silverado 3500 HD with the overhang sitting on the tailgate.  I haven't done the calculation but if I towed I would subtract some amount from my maximum tongue weight.  I would also need to use a 14" to 18" extension which has about 600 lb max capicity.  My left over tongue weight well exceeds the extensions capacity.

ET & JH,

Thanks for the replies.  Have either of you got some pictures you could post?  I might be fretting more about it than I need to.  But I'd still like to see some of the rigs and configurations.  With my luck, I'd have everything done, park next to one of y'all, and go "Dang, I should have done that.".
