Yep, Colter and Soda Butte are "hard-sided" best check with the Custer-Gallatin NF if you think you might be over Beartooth Pass. I would go - it is fantastic country. Have a great trip.

Mark, Hope everyone's comments puts you more at ease. The safest way is to ask the campsite if they have restrictions. The Soda Butte attacks were in 2010 and the last I hear was a photographer had bated the campsite with meat. One person was mauled to death and 2-3 others mauled and survived. I heard he had been arrested, but nothing more appeared. I'm not sure why one of the sites on Yellowstone Lake only allows hardside. John

There is no difference to a bear getting into a hard or soft side camper. If you have a clean camp and camper you should be fine. We use our Fleet all the time up here in the Yukon and never a problem. We have bears right in town right now..
