We have the side dinette in our Kestral. It works but to have 2 guests over to eat with us is very cramped. If you ever imagined having guests. Get the front dinette. Much more seating room

I went with the front dinette for a few reasons, doesn't sound like they apply to your needs though. I am not concerned about looking out the window and such, as I am mainly outdoors. I went with the front dinette because:
-Storage, it definitely had a bit more storage the than the other configurations.
-Layout, I feel its a lot roomier to move around.
-if I have a guest, they can sleep up top and I can come and go without bothering them.
Main Reason:
I do a ton of stealth camping, and naps. I am a night photographer, so often, I just want to crash out for a few hours and then move to next spot. I found the front dinette was by far the easiest to stealth camp in without popping the top. I only have 3 nights in mine so far, but the dinette has been in the bed position since day one.

I went with the Hawk front dinette because:
1. Cassette toilet
2. Larger dining area
3. Larger dinette bed
I too can stealth it when needed. As far as windows, I'm 6' 2" and I'm not sure I would see very well out of a side dinette anyway. I'll have to check at the rally. The dinette windows work very well for ventilation on those nights I have used the dinette bed.
