Great idea, not I finally have a use for that stupid roof rack. Do you only shower with the top down?

Yeah, top down only, no biggie though, easy to plan showers.

Man, that roof rack is *key* for me, a place to put my bike, hang photographic backdrops, lighting, aluminum shooting platform that doubles as a hail protector for the solar panel, etc.

I'll shower with the roof down, not a big deal. It's all about getting into routines while doing this kind of project.

Raise the roof. Whatcha gonna see, from the knees down. Big whoop! If you're that paranoid, add a longer shower curtain.

But really I like the rod idea. And doubling it for awning use, very creative.

Half way done with the fairing, did a mockup with a piece of cardboard, I ended up going an inch wider on either side on the top. I am moving the bar forward, grinding a deeper arc in the rubber foot and using a cable / turnbuckle safety to pull the feet tighter.

Got a cheap piece of aluminum scrap from an air conditioning and heating place. I had them cut it to the cardboard template then I mounted the spars for stiffness and mounting placements. It's light and rigid, good for crosswinds. I just need to cut the trap doors for the latches, put a rubber foot on the bottom and mount the sucker.
